The Vision
The family envisioned a home that would also serve as a showcase for their extensive art and sculpture collection, and celebrate Indian craftsmanship and vibrant colors.
The Transformation
To achieve this, the design challenged the notion that Indian craft is incompatible with modern aesthetics by seamlessly integrating traditional elements with contemporary design.
The design blended colors, textures, wood, and fabrics to create a joyful and inviting atmosphere. Architectural modifications were made to accommodate statement pieces like a 4.5-foot-tall dancing Ganesha carved from a single block of wood. The home's standout feature is its balanced use of bright colors, complemented by plants and soft accessories, creating a visually captivating space.
The Result
With movable design elements allowing for seasonal updates, the project successfully delivers a modern home that celebrates India's rich cultural heritage without sacrificing sophistication, comfort, or functionality.
